RegTech Forum – Geopolitics of Hacking

On Friday, the 12th February at 4pm GMT, our own Federico Charosky chaired a panel session with the RegTech Forum Devraj Basu, hosted by the University of Strathclyde Fintech cluster, on the “Geopolitics of Hacking”

Fellow experts joining this panel included Ahmed Ali, Vice President – EMEA of Cyware Labs Inc, Rami Shaath, Senior Intelligence Analyst at CrowdStrike and Organiser of the 971Sec, a Cyber Security Community of the GCC and, Robert Hayes, former Head of the UK National Technical Assistance Centre and Senior Fellow of the Microsoft Institute for Advanced Technology in Governments.

The event panellists took a look behind the scenes of all the current news and shared their insights and intelligence around the actors and motivations behind recent activities.

The RegTech Forum provides an independent platform for RegTech industry insiders, compliance personnel and regulators to exchange ideas and concepts with academics. It is supported by the University of Strathclyde’s strategic partner, Fintech Scotland.

Panellist Details:

Ahmed Ali

Vice President – EMEA of Cyware Labs Inc, a Cyber Fusion company. He consults on proactive measures to cyber threats, assists in responding to incidents and design mitigation processes. He has helped many financial institutions and large corporations in securing their networks. He also speaks regionally and internationally on topics of threat intelligence and information sharing.

Rami Shaath

Senior Intelligence Analyst. CrowdStrike and Organiser of the 971Sec, a Cyber Security Community of the GCC

Robert Hayes

Non-Executive Director & Strategic Advisory roles, supporting public & private sector organisations through complex change programmes, with a particular focus on risk & cybersecurity. Robert spend 30 years working in senior positions in the UK Government, followed by ten years as a Senior Fellow of the Microsoft Institute for Advanced Technology in Governments.
