Published: 11th April 2024 | In: News, Press Releases

As Quorum Cyber continues to grow and expand, it has established a Strategic Advisory Board (SAB) to act as a navigation beacon and counsel for the company’s leadership team.

The Strategic Advisory Board and its purpose

Quorum Cyber’s SAB will play a key role by providing different perspectives and challenges to Quorum Cyber’s leadership as it develops future strategies and makes key decisions and investments. The SAB will help to maintain the business’s leading position in a complex and rapidly changing sector, while helping to minimise risk to the business.

The launch of the SAB will provide:

  • Expertise and insights: with their rich knowledge of the security industry and market, the SAB helps identify potential threats, develop effective strategies, and make informed decisions
  • Business strategy: the SAB provides guidance on market trends, the competitive landscape, and new technologies – something that can be crucial in the fast-paced cyber security industry
  • Innovation and growth: the SAB brings fresh outside perspectives, helping to drive growth and innovation in the company
  • Counsel to specific customers, providing them with a wealth of invaluable advice and support throughout their cyber security journey.

Deep security expertise and experience

The members of Quorum Cyber’s SAB have been carefully chosen for their knowledge, expertise, and experience in areas relevant to the goals of the business. They are:

Bob Hayes, Chair of the SAB. Bob spent 30 years working in senior positions in the UK Government, followed by 10 years as a Senior Fellow of the Microsoft Institute for Advanced Technology in Governments. Bob now acts as a non-executive director and advisor to several organisations.

Lesley Kipling, Chief Security Advisor at Microsoft. Lesley brings deep experience in security incident response, computer security, forensic investigations, and crisis management, and holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Forensic Computing from Cranfield University.

David Aucsmith, a former naval officer and scientist in the US intelligence community, who is a Senior Principal Research Scientist at the Applied Physics Laboratory of the University of Washington and an Affiliate Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington. For 14 years, David was Senior Director for Microsoft’s Institute for Advanced Technology in Governments.

Andy Ellis, a former US Air Force officer and graduate of MIT, and a business executive with deep expertise in security, having led Akamai’s security as it created a billion-dollar cyber security business.

When asked about the launch of the SAB, Bob Hayes said, “Serving as a compass bearer and sounding board for Quorum Cyber’s board of directors, the Strategic Advisory Board ensures the company continues to maximise opportunities and accelerate growth, even amidst the most unpredictable of times. Furthermore, its members each provide counsel to specific customers, providing them with a wealth of invaluable advice and support on their journey to achieving stronger cyber security and resilience.”
