Quorum Cyber is delighted to have been recognised as one of the winners of the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association’s (BVCA) Vision 2024 initiative in Scotland. The regional winners were announced at the BVCA’s Annual Scotland Dinner on Wednesday 13th November. The BVCA is the voice of private capital in the UK. 

The annual awards honour the management teams of companies backed by private equity and venture capital. The judging panel commended Quorum Cyber for its “growth strategy and talent retention amidst a market supply shortage and its strong financial performance”. 

Glasgow-based AutoRek and Murgitroyd were also named winners in Scotland. They will join Quorum Cyber and 14 other companies from across the UK for the National Awards at the BVCA’s Gala Dinner in London on 4th December 2024. 

Livingbridge, one of the two private equity firms that backs Quorum Cyber, nominated the world-class cyber security company for the award. On the night, Livingbridge won an award for its “outstanding support to investee companies”.

Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney, praised the role that private capital plays in supporting businesses across Scotland. He said: “The achievements of award winners and contenders celebrated by the BVCA demonstrate the rich, vibrant skills and talents displayed across Scotland’s renewable energy, natural capital, life sciences sectors, amidst others.” 

In 2023, private capital investment in Scotland amounted to £731 million, supporting 104 companies. According to the BVCA, private equity and venture capital-backed businesses in employ 145,000 people in Scotland. Over 90% of these investments were directed towards small and medium-sized enterprises. 

“These awards celebrate the remarkable ingenuity and resilience of businesses throughout Scotland,” said Michael Moore, BVCA Chief Executive. “This year, we saw an exceptionally strong lineup of Scottish nominees, resulting in three outstanding winners – AutoRek, Murgitroyd, and Quorum Cyber. These companies exemplify exceptional leadership – delivering financial success, innovation, and meaningful contributions to Scotland’s communities.”
