Published: 17th May 2023 | In: News

Ever since we were founded in Edinburgh in 2016, we’ve had children’s charities close to our hearts. While our purpose is to fight bullies and defend our customers from the cyber threats of today and tomorrow, we’re always keen to lend a helping hand to local charitable organisations that are working hard to look after children with healthcare needs across Scotland.

So we’re delighted to be sponsoring and attending the annual Thorntons’ Sports Challenge Dinner on Thursday 18th May. Held at the Apex City Quay Hotel in Dundee, the event is in aid of two fantastic Scottish children’s charities. The Archie Foundation and Children’s Aid Scotland have both raised millions of pounds for sick children, babies and their families in times of need.

Sports Challenge quiz

The evening’s agenda is packed with games and fun activities to raise extra cash. Our team members are looking forward to taking part in the Question of Sport themed quiz, hosted by sporting legends Andy Nicol, a former international rugby union player, and Alan McInally, a former professional football player. Both Andy and Alan are regular sports pundits on TV, so the quiz promises to be entertaining and, of course, highly competitive. The winning team will be crowned Sports Challenge champions.

The black-tie dinner, which has raised over £200,000 for charities over the past six years, will also run an online auction with dozens of some superb lots up for sale. Prizes range from signed sports shirts and photographs to an Aston Martin day at Silverstone, through to a girl’s getaway in London and holiday breaks in Berlin, Budapest, sunny Portugal, the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands. With items to suit everyone’s tastes, the auction is hoped to raise much-needed cash for the two deserving charities on the night.

Maybe your team will also be at the Sports Challenge Dinner – if so, we hope to see you in Dundee.
