Overview
IT administrators and users globally have been affected by a significant problem causing Remote Desktop sessions to freeze. The problem began after the February 2025 Security update and subsequent updates.
Impact
This flaw may have delayed or halted critical operations relying on remote access, leading to productivity loss. Organisations providing remote support to customers could have experienced delays, in turn affecting customer satisfaction.
Affected Products
The affected versions are Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11 24H2 (Security update KB5051987, released 11th February 2025).
Containment, Mitigations & Remediations
Microsoft has released updates to address these issues, and it is highly recommended to update to the current version.
