You are here: Home / Industries / Retail Virtual Roundtable

Join Microsoft and Quorum Cyber for a one-hour virtual roundtable to learn about the biggest cyber security threats facing the retail sector today and what can be done about them.

Microsoft’s Digital Defense Report for 2022 describes the current state of the global cybersecurity landscape, covering the five main themes of The State of Cybercrime, Nation State Threats, Devices and Infrastructure, Cyber Influence Operations and Cyber Resilience. It reveals that Consumer Retail currently makes up 16% of all ransomware incident and recovery engagements.

Stuart Aston, National Security Officer at Microsoft UK, will explain the key points of the report, which underlines the scale and severity of the challenges that businesses are up against. Microsoft observes adversaries continuously developing their tactics, techniques and procedures to include Ransomware-as-a-Service, double extortion and business email compromise. Employers need to adopt tried and tested cyber hygiene practices, train their workforces in cyber security awareness and protect their entire IT estate. Furthermore, it’s important to secure supply chains, which are increasingly used to bypass companies with stronger defences. Effective cyber security will help companies to become more resilient to evolving threats.

Hosted by John Hebditch, Microsoft Retail & Consumer Goods Account Executive, the roundtable will discuss what retailers can do to protect their assets, their data, their customers and their business from harm in an unpredictable and hostile digital landscape. Quorum Cyber Founder & CEO Federico Charosky will share his insights from 20 years in cyber security and talk about why partnerships and communication are the best defences against known, emerging and unknown threats around the globe.

You’ll be able to engage with the presenters and ask any burning questions in the Q&A.
